Our journey to today
In 2017, Lenzing crafted a new solution for fabrics. As LENZING™ ECOVERO™, we invented the first responsible viscose fiber to be awarded the EU Ecolabel from day one.1 Viscose is the most important manmade cellulosic fiber globally4 and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ made a responsible version more accessible to more people.6 A fiber designed to take less and give more from the day it was created,2, 3, 5 backed by certifications we know our customers value, giving them even more reason to choose LENZING™ ECOVERO™ with confidence. Because trust is just as essential an ingredient at Lenzing as the fibers we make.
2017
Lenzing invents LENZING™ ECOVERO™ responsible viscose fibers1 and production begins in Lenzing, Austria.
2018
Production of LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers expands to the state-of-the-art Lenzing Nanjing Fibers (LNF) site in China, significantly increasing global production capacity.
To help producers, retailers and brands showcase how they use LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers, Lenzing launches an E-Branding platform.
Lenzing launches an advanced fiber identification system that uses markers to enable LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers to be identified in any final fabric.
2020
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ black fibers are launched in response to market needs.
Lenzing introduces a digital platform, delivering comprehensive supply chain traceability for LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers.
2023
A technical breakthrough enables LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers to be manufactured using Lenzing’s game-changing REFIBRA™ technology, which uses pre- and post-consumer textile waste as a raw material, in addition to wood.
Lenzing successfully converts its Purwakarta site in Indonesia, PT. South Pacific Viscose, enabling increased production of LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose.
