Minimizing our environmental footprint and using resources efficiently is fundamental. That’s why we strive to take less from the natural world – using only what we need and ensuring what we do take is used to its full potential. At LENZING™ ECOVERO™, we are dedicated to manufacturing in ways that lessen our environmental impact2, and offer our partners more ways to understand and monitor their impact as well.
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose fibers start as wood sourced from certified or controlled forests3 in line with Lenzing’s Wood and Pulp policy. The harvested wood is turned into woodchips, from which cellulose, the essence of our fibers, is extracted. This pulp is refined and put through a precise dissolving and spinning process where the cellulose becomes fine, fluffy fibers that can then be twisted into strong yarns. These yarns are woven or blended with other materials into versatile fabrics, ready to be made into products. The fibers can biodegrade and return to the earth at the end of their lifecycle, back to their original state.10
The wood used to make LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers is carefully selected from responsibly managed forests.3 The wood taken is purposefully balanced with forest growth rates, to ensure the continued availability of this essential resource. It then enters a responsible production process that uses at least 50% less water and emits at least 50% less greenhouse gas (GHG) compared to generic viscose fiber production2, thereby saving precious resources for future generations.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ x REFIBRA™ fibers are vital to the way we make and reuse textiles, now and tomorrow. Made by combining controlled or certified wood sources with pre- and post-consumer textile waste, these fibers contain a minimum of 20% recycled materials9, helping to lessen our industry’s reliance on natural resources.

The wood used as raw material for all LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers is sourced from certified or controlled wood sources meeting FSC® or PEFC standards3, following the guidelines of the Lenzing Wood and Pulp Policy.
